  8.   This is a story of 'DGi/net' once founded, but yet in flesh.
  9.   No long preaches, god bless. First few li(n)es about history,
  10.   crap like ideology and the evil mind behind all this. If you
  11.   feel ok afterwards, punish yourself with the 'policy' file.

  13.   h e r s t o r y ,  p a s t

  15.   Once upon a time there were two dudes who wanted to create an
  16.   online hangout place for demogroup members, only. That time a
  17.   net called 'cdn' still existed, and these two guys didn't even
  18.   think they would be creating something bigger, perhaps only a
  19.   place where quality would count. But so it happened that the
  20.   dream connected people and DGi got big, the 'no.1' demonet in
  21.   quite short period of time. As time passed, people, needs and
  22.   attitudes slowly changed. But I still claim that we never lost
  23.   our dream, it still exists, in different level, but it does.
  24.   We never did go after trophies or fame. The underground never
  25.   looses. And that's where we stand today: at the new dawning.

  27.   a n d  f u t u r e ,  r e n a s c e n c e

  29.   A clische, it looks fine. No pressure, panic or need-to-be.
  30.   But we got serious plans no matter, and some has to do with
  31.   this ever so god damn hot internet boom. No promises, lies or
  32.   anything, but we believe in development and reincarnation, and
  33.   we'll fckng do it and be proud. That's all. Mercy on your soul.

  35.   o v e r v i e w

  37.   So, what does DGi stand for in tech. The basics are simple, but
  38.   there's more, which you can only try out and experience. Short:

  40. │ (1) DGi is worldwide net, carrying message and file-echo areas.
  41. │     Towards perfection with good organizing, quality areas and
  42. │     freedom of speech and print. DGi is the oldest existing,
  43. │     widest & biggest demonet ever, and all this pain started so
  44. │     innocently on a sunny 3rd of April, nineteenninetythree ad.
  45. │ (2) File-echo system is speciality; it's like your own easy and
  46. │     fast distribution network. Read 'hatch.DGi' for more info.
  47. │ (3) Of course, there is a certain catch to all this: only so
  48. │     called quality 'demoboards' are accepted to join. If you're
  49. │     uncertain is your board one, it's propably not.

  51.   I guess that about covers it. I could draw more beatifully
  52.   colored pages and bullshit about a lot of things. But since we
  53.   won't promise you a perfect net with huge flows, we instead
  54.   expect some participation and commitment from you. Readers make
  55.   the net. If you get the message here and agree, and yet find all
  56.   this bragging exciting and interesting, do not hesitate to join,
  57.   always space for fresh, creative and inituative minds. But if
  58.   you're just looking for another net to add to your collection,
  59.   don't bother please, just keep this file as a souvenire. Please
  60.   forgive the grammar and irony hidden somewhere above.

  65. │ send it your 'country hq', to 'Rene Christensen' (Int'l Coord)

  67. │ included: 'regpoint.DGi'. You also have the opportunity to reg
  68. │ online on internet: "http://www.vision.auc.dk/~rvc/DGI/". Why
  69. │ not check out our ah so lovely pages for whatever reason.

  72.   nodelist and info from Methadone (Fin) or Downstairs (Den). It
  73.   should also be available at your 'country hq'. Just freq list
